In response to poor Pool and Spa Inspection Studies, the CDC recommends public pool and spa users to test the chlorine and pH themselves. In partnership with the CDC, is offering free test strips to the public.

Most people are not aware hot tubs can harbor legionella bacteria. Legionella is the bacteria responsible for causing Legionnaires disease, a serious form of pneumonia. Several outbreaks and individual cases of Legionnaires disease have been identified worldwide.
